I have no quarrel with Catholic Parishioners, who had nothing to do with the crusades and would naturally vehemently oppose the terrible bloodshed of those days.
In the history of Europe, the Middle Ages lasted from the 5th to the 15th century. It began with the fall of the Western Roman Empire and merged into the Renaissance and the Age of Discovery.
Many people have little tolerance for any mention of The Bible. The mere mention of its name triggers to them that the speaker must be simple minded, unreasonable, irrational or uneducated. Ask them how they drew this conclusion and they’ll be hard pressed to name specific reasons or times and places where they were taught these ideas. It is demonstrable arguable they are very much in error and horribly, even purposefully deceived.
In truth, the Bible is Western civilization’s most important and defining piece of literature. It is also a widely recognized and valuable history book. Before the years approximately 1920, no person would have been considered an educated proper Lady or Gentleman if ignorant of The Biblical writings and many better educated people could read it in Greek and Hebrew!
God uses the Holy Roman Empire to
declare His presence and supremacy.
In Isaiah 46:9-10, He says, “… I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand ….”
In Isaiah 55:11 He says he never lies, never boasts, and precisely: Isaiah 55:11 King James Version (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
We are as dust under God’s feet. Don’t pick a fight with God!!!
In Isaiah 40, He says, “To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things ….
Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance …. All nations before him are as nothing …” (verses 25-26, 15, 17).
No one is great before God. He loves all and will welcome anyone for a second chance for a beautiful eternal life. But he bows to no one. He fears and respects no one. He is the definition of “Soverign.”
The God of the Bible, The Almighty, the one Jesus called “The Heavenly Father”, Jews call The Infinite, and HaShem (the unpronounceable name) The Ancient of Days, The Creator of All Life, Creator of the Universe, Creator of Eternity, MY Heavenly Father whom I love, cherish, and fear, is the ultimate authority in the affairs of mankind. Few realize it today, but God, Creator of the Universe, sanctions the rise and fall of human empires and nations.
Is He really all of this? The best theoretical physicists, chemists, biologists, geneticists in the world acknowledge (at least privately) this universe never could have “just fallen together accidently” and my website has several articles for your serious consideration to prove their point.
He, The Lord God, decides the borders of nations. He oversees all major
developments in international relations. God reigns supreme in the affairs of men. They who believe God is a myth and say that some unnamed scientist somewhere “proved” that God doesn’t exist and that the universe just fell together, have no proof of this and are easily confronted with such a library of proofs otherwise, they quickly devolve into defending their weak ego, or simply go into silent, neurotic denial.
Do not be deceived! There is ample scientific proof from many scientific disciplines that the universe and all life was very carefully designed to very exacting specifications, and then created by means which we do not understand.
We are surrounded by evidence of this and much of it is covered up. Good, honest scientists ask questions no one can answer. The Sphinx and Pyramids of Egypt and indeed others like them all over the world, and many other “discoveries” leave our best scientists baffled.
God is busy carrying out the promises he made long ago. His words “do not return to him empty.” His prophecies are coming true as they always have. We are in the final years of the entire Biblical story and at very least it can be said, we are coming to the close of a history of mankind going back at least (At Very Least) 6,000 years.
If we accept geological findings and carbon dating, it may well be that hominids of some kind roamed the world even 100,000 years ago!
