What Is The Unforgivable Sin?

What is The Unforgivable Sin?
The present condition of lost sinners is not because of their sin, but because of their unbelief.
The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:17-18).
The blood of Jesus is sufficient to cover every person’s sin, past, present and future. The sacrifice has been made once for all. No other sacrifice can or will be made. It is completely sufficient for all sin for all mankind forever.
However, no one is automatically saved by that sacrificial death. The sacrifice Jesus allowed, of himself, becomes effective when the lost sinner calls on the name of Jesus putting his faith in Him to save and give everlasting life.
You’ll remember yesterday I showed you Romans 10:13
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
The only condition is to believe on the saving work of Christ on the cross. All that a person has to do to be lost is nothing. To not believe is to say in effect Jesus did not die for me. To believe on Christ is in effect to declare that He is all-sufficient to cover all my sins for all eternity. The sacrifice has been paid in full. There need be no other and no more. All my sins, past, present and future are cleansed by that scrificed blood.
Repeating the thought spoken by beloved Pastor Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, California: The ONLY unforgivable sin is the refusal to accept the free gift of salvation; the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross, the free gift of eternal life.
Too many people are so proud they will refuse God’s free offer right up until the last minute of their lives. They won’t look. They won’t investigate. They’re too self-sufficient, too self-important, self-righteous and foolishly, arrogantly ignorant and proud. Don’t you be one of them! Trade a few minutes to know the truth of Christ and gain an eternity of happiness and life in God. That’s the best trade you’ll ever get!
Judgment is already passed on all who refuse to believe on Christ as their Savior sent from God (John 3:1836). How much more can anyone want? God sacrificed his only son to rescue YOU!
However, “As many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name” (John 1:12). “God has given us eternal life” (1 John 5:11). The problem is people love spiritual darkness rather than the “Light” of Jesus.
How tragic this is because when we seriously look at the “fruits” of sin they are only “pleasure for a season.” Today’s world is just gushing with lust and people exchanging lovers, and diseases, living for money and what money buys, living for more rock-n-roll music, more video games, more violent movies, more food and vehicles and short time cheap thrills….  All of this is incredibly short term and therefore, to trade these momentary pleasures for eternal life is incredibly stupid. But why then?
One pastor told me, “The problem is, we don’t believe it.” We hear the gospel but we don’t believe it.
You just read past something, and probably have seen it many times. I wonder if its real meaning ever got to you. Let’s look at this again.  HERE IS THE HEART OF THE TRUE GOSPEL. “However, “As many as received Him, to them He gave power to become the sons of God….”  Jesus did not come to have a story, a legend told about him. He didn’t want to be a legend. He came to do The Heavenly Father’s will. He acted and spoke as God required and was happy to say so. He came to heal and preach and teach and correct the doctrine of the high rabbis. But ultimately he came to give all he had to save those who would become the children of God, the family of God, to be adopted by God as one of his own and to be raised by God until finally in our maturity, we shall be like Him!

1 John 3:1-3  New International Version (NIV)

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be, has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
There it is. There is the heart of the Good News. Not ONLY can you be rescued from your sin, so that the law will not send you to eternal punishment…. Much More: You will be forgiven, adopted into God’s House and be raised by Him and one day WE shall be like our Heavenly Father. And what capabilities we will have thereafter will astonish us!
Salvation is received through believing in the finished work of Christ on the cross. People who reject the saving gospel of Christ are already under condemnation because they have not believed. They stand condemned.
However, the believer in Christ is “not condemned,” and he “will not be condemned” (John 5:24). The person who believes on Christ has “everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death to life.” The believer has an eternal spiritual life now, which is endless (Jn. 3:36).
Whatever may unwittingly and unwillingly happen to you and me over these next years has no bearing on our salvation.  IF you are a believer you have an eternal spiritual life now, and death has no grip on you.
When we trust in Jesus, we have in the present time “eternal life.” No judgment will come in the future regarding eternal life. He will not be judged “because he already passed from one realm—“death”—into another—“life”
If he will not be judged and we are called by Him “Brothers and Sisters” we also will not be judged and condemned.
(Eph. 2:15).

Ephesians 2:1-6New International Version (NIV)

Made Alive in Christ

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,

We have passed from eternal death to eternal life. Jesus described the resurrection of the lost sinner into eternal life. With the apostle Paul, we can also proclaim, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ” (Rom. 8:1).
The believer is a sinner. However, now s/he is a redeemed sinner. The difference is that he confesses his sins and claims the forgiveness of God in Christ (1 Jn. 1:6-7). “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (v. 7).
The only difference between condemnation and salvation is faith in the atoning work of Jesus. Acts 4:12 says, “And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
Jesus gives eternal life to you who believes on (trusts in, clings to, relies in) Him because He has already died for you.

I have a book appearing soon, probably at the end of January 2018, (free of charge) about this subject in much greater detail entitled:  “God’s Amazing Future Plans For You”.  It’s a big E-book with a lot of valuable information. It may be the most important piece I’ve ever pulled together and you’ll see links to sample pages of it on this site. Expect surprises. It’s intended to teach what you have probably never learned.
At the end of the sample pages, you’ll get a link to download all of it to your computer as a PDF – No Charge…!

I want you to have it and I hope you’ll take it seriously because I put a lot of serious effort into giving it to you as a gift.  sn
